Nuts
and Bolts
The parties involved
Mentor - Any NITK alum who is willing to share his career
experience in helping someone else.
Mentee - Alum who receives help from a Mentor.
Broker - Alum who sets up a mentor with a mentee.
•
Procedure
- Brokers call out for mentors and mentees. Both sign up their
profile information and their interests in being a mentor or both.
- An alum cannot sign up to be only a mentee.
- The Broker sets up a mentor with a mentee based on above
information.
- If the mentor is open to talking to more mentees, the broker
keeps the mentor in the "available" pool. Otherwise the mentor is taken
out of the pool until he is free to return back after he and his mentee
have terminated their relationship.
- Mentees themselves are automatically put in the available
mentor pool to mentor someone else.
- After an association has been made, the mentor and mentee
will discuss the terms of their association and remain in the
relationship.
- A mentor can choose how much time committment he is willing
to put in.
- If an association is not working for any reason, it can be
terminated by either of the parties by informing any broker.
